Health & Safety Policy
Introduction
The Director of Tragopan Security Solutions recognizes its duty to comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. The Company acknowledges and accepts its legal responsibility for securing the health, safety, and welfare of all its employees, of subcontractors working on its behalf and all others affected by their activities. The Company is committed to fulfilling all its legal requirements and any other applicable requirements.
This policy is intended to provide a coherent and consistent framework to enable the Company’s employees and others to understand and implement arrangements. TSS believes that the Health, Safety and Welfare of its employees and others affected by its operations should have equal importance to quality, cost, service, and morale.
Policy Statement
In accepting this responsibility, the company aims, so far as is reasonably practicable to:
- Provide and maintain safe working environments without risk to health and safety.
- Set standards that comply with all relevant statutory requirements relating to health, safety, and the environment regarding their effect on employees, customers, contractors, and the public.
- Safeguard employees and others from foreseeable hazards regarding health, safety, or the environment in existing processes and working systems.
- Ensure that when new substances, plants, machinery, equipment, processes, or premises are introduced, adequate guidance, instruction and supervision will be provided for safe methods of work to be developed.
- Ensure all employees are aware of their own responsibilities in respect of relevant health, safety, and environmental matters.
- Aim to achieve the commitment and active involvement of all staff, in order that safety
awareness and positive attitudes are fostered, and continuous efforts made to improve safety performance. - Ensure that employees carrying out work are informed of relevant standards; are trained in procedures as necessary; and that systems are established for monitoring compliance, without detracting from the contractor’s legal responsibilities, to ensure
that requirements are met. - Promote good health and be concerned with the prevention of occupational and non occupational disorders and diseases using health counselling and health education.
- Co-operate with appropriate authorities and technical organizations, both to ensure that policies are updated and to contribute to the formulation of standards and means of compliance.
- Retain, and review as necessary, existing arrangements for safety committees to maintain effective consideration of health and safety measures.
- Ensure that these objectives are being fulfilled through auditing activities, both internally through competent assessors and by external consultants
Duties of Employees
- Take reasonable care of their own health and safety, and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work.
- Not interfere with, misuse or wilfully damage anything provided in the interests of health and safety.
- Reporting any accidents or near misses however minor to the Site Supervisor or line manager at the earliest opportunity
- Co-operating with any investigation which may be undertaken with the objective of preventing reoccurrence of incidents.
- To ensure this policy is effective, we will review it annually or on any significant changes to our business.
- Maintain procedures for communication and consultation between all levels of staff on
matters of health, safety, and welfare.
